Three Reasons You Need to Pursue Your Purpose NOW

When I met my husband, he would always comment about me being in a hurry. I always seemed rushed and maybe sometimes I would leap before having all the information available. He would tell me that Rome wasn’t build in a day, and we have plenty of time together to get done everything we hoped and dreamed about. He is definitely a more analytical type of person, and I am more inclined to take leaps of faith. Between the two of us, we strike a nice balance.

I admit that I’ve never been a patient person. I always suspected that this was due to a combination of my limited life expectancy and due to the fact that I am always waiting on other people because I need so much help with my disability.

I long ago acknowledged that patience is a virtue that I have very little of (but I’m constantly working on this … #goals). 😊

Upon reflection, I believe that when it comes to finding and living your purpose, time is of the essence. Along the way you will need your own balance of thinking about things and taking leaps of faith. However, in the end you will be glad that you did not waste one extra day trying to pursue your purpose. Here are my top three reasons why I believe this to be true:

When it comes to finding and living your purpose, time is of the essence.

You have work to do. We are created for a unique and specific purpose. There is work to be done that will go undone if you do not get busy. Who else will be there to fulfill your purpose if you do not make yourself available for the job? The answer is, no one. Only you can make it happen. I know without a shadow of a doubt that no one else on earth can help other women find their unique purpose in the same way that I can. There may be others that have an interesting take on the process, but I know that I am perfectly and purposely made to speak to the women that resonate with my message and my way of delivering that message.

No one else is qualified for your unique calling. There is no one else on earth that has your special concoction of talents, skills, abilities, or point of view. Who else is going to be able to look at the problem and bring your spin to it? No one. There is no back up plan, no understudy, no second runner up ready to step in if you are unable to fulfill your duties with your purpose. It’s all on you to do it. That may be harsh and make you feel like you’re under a lot of pressure to perform and to get it right, but it’s the truth.

On the plus side, everything that happens to you on your life journey to discovering your purpose … positive and negative … can be used to make your impact go further. No experience is wasted, so if you feel like it’s taking you longer to discover your purpose than you hoped or expected, don’t worry because the journey of discovery is giving you even more unique qualifications.

Once you find your purpose and begin to live it, the joy and peace you feel will be immeasurable. Even when it seems like your world is crashing down around you, you can rest easy knowing that you are exactly where you are meant to be, doing the work you are meant to be doing. Nothing can compare to that feeling. Recently we had a family emergency with one of our pets. Even while preparing for and expecting the worse, I had this amazing sense of love, joy, and peace. Love for my pet and all the unconditional love I have felt from him over the years, joy that he was part of my life and will be forever even if he isn’t physically on earth anymore, and peace that no matter the outcome he had a loving home and was a true part of our family. You see, even though my pet isn’t part of my purpose, the sense of peace, love, and joy you feel from living your purpose overflows to every other part of your life. That reason alone is worth the price of admission to living your purpose.

There is no back up plan, no understudy, no second runner up ready to step in if you are unable to fulfill your duties with your purpose.

The journey to discovering your purpose may be long, frustrating, and difficult, but I assure you that if you keep at it and keep going with the goal in mind of discovering and fulfilling your purpose, you will not be disappointed.
